Our goal was to plan, film, and edit an original story that demonstrated the storytelling and technical skills developed throughout our degree. I served as the camera operator for all gimbal shots and edited this version of the project. Through deliberate shot selection, pacing, color grading, and a gradually intensifying soundtrack, I aimed to build tension and keep the audience engaged from beginning to end.

This short video was created as part of the class challenge to film and edit a short mockumentary. Our goal was to make a video about the hiring process and the first day of a new employee at the school's Digital Media Lab. We took inspiration from "The Office" and replicated many of the filming techniques used in that series. I served as a camera operator, leading all gimbal shots, assisted with lighting, and edited this version of the project. I aimed to maintain consistent lighting, color, and pacing while creating a cohesive narrative that balanced humor with a natural, documentary style.

I served as the main camera operator, operating the Canon C70 for the majority of handheld shots, and edited this version of our film. 

The Cops Audio Story

This in-class project focused on recording an audio story using a Tascam DR-40 and a soundboard with multiple studio microphones connected via XLR cables. I voiced the Perp character and edited this version of the project in Adobe Audition. The video component was created later specifically for my portfolio.

Music Video-Lighting Project

This final project for my Lighting Cinematography course challenged me to apply the lighting techniques developed throughout the semester. Because all the scenes were filmed in 3 remote locations with limited access to power, I relied primarily on natural light and reflectors instead of studio lighting. I served as the sole camera operator and gaffer, operating my DJI RS 3 Mini gimbal while designing and adjusting the lighting for each scene.

This instructional video challenged our team to plan, record, and edit a tutorial on a topic of our choosing in under five minutes. We chose to demonstrate how to create a simple double exposure effect in Adobe Photoshop. The tutorial was captured using OBS Studio, and each team member edited their own version of the project. My focus was on creating a concise, easy-to-follow edit by removing unnecessary pauses, improving the pacing, and synchronizing the narration with each step of the process.

Production Logo Animation

I challenged myself to create an animated logo for my personal brand, inspired by the studio intros used by major film companies. The goal was to develop a unique opening sequence that reflects my interest in cinematic storytelling while building my skills in Blender. This project marked my first significant experience with Blender, where I modeled and animated the design using basic geometry, keyframe animation, and glow effects. I then refined the camera movement to give the animation a more cinematic feel before adding the final text in LumaFusion.
